25. Celebrations started

— “Black Saree, White Kurta & Dangerous Eyes 🖤”

One week.

An entire week passed so fast that nobody even realized how quickly time slipped away.

The house had completely transformed now.

Every corner carried wedding energy—flowers everywhere, relatives constantly entering and leaving, loud music from downstairs, shopping bags filling rooms, decorators arguing with planners, cousins dancing randomly in corridors, aunties gossiping with tea cups in hands.

And somewhere in middle of all this chaos—

Khushi slowly became part of the house.

Morning chai with Reyansh’s mother.

Late night decoration discussions with cousins.

Helping Ananya choose jewellery.

Fighting with Reyansh over stupid things daily.

It all started feeling… normal.

Dangerously normal.

Like she belonged there.

And honestly?

That scared her little too.

Because every time she laughed freely inside that house, every time Reyansh casually pulled her beside him during family discussions, every time his mother asked, “Khushi beta tumhara opinion?”—

her heart attached itself deeper.

Too deep.

Tonight was Ananya’s bachelor party.

The entire rooftop venue glowed beautifully under fairy lights while soft music echoed around. Delhi night wind moved gently through open space and city lights sparkled far away.

And for first time since arriving—

Khushi genuinely looked nervous while getting ready.

Because of saree.

Black saree.

The same black saree Ananya forced her to wear saying:

“Bhaiya faint ho jayenge.”

Currently Khushi stood in front of mirror staring at herself silently. Soft curls rested over one shoulder, silver earrings moved lightly whenever she turned, black saree hugged her figure beautifully while sleeveless blouse exposed just enough skin to make her uncomfortable.

Too pretty.

Too dangerous.

Especially around one man.

Before she could overthink more, Ananya barged inside room dramatically already dressed in glittery silver outfit.

She froze immediately.

Then screamed.

“OH MY GOD.”

“Shut up.”

“NO WAIT.” Ananya held her dramatically. “You actually look illegal.”

Khushi groaned embarrassed. “Ananya please.”

“My brother is finished.”

That sentence alone made butterflies explode.

Downstairs meanwhile Reyansh adjusted cufflinks impatiently while cousins teased him nonstop.

Black suit.

Black shirt underneath.

Hair pushed back slightly.

Sharp jawline.

Expensive watch.

Basically looking unfair.

“Bhai why are you checking stairs every ten seconds?” one cousin laughed.

“I’m not.”

“Liar.”

Before Reyansh could reply—

voices suddenly lowered around hall.

Because Khushi walked downstairs.

And honestly?

Even noise of party felt quieter for one second.

Reyansh looked up casually first.

Then froze completely.

Actually froze.

Black saree.

Soft curls.

Nervous eyes.

And those damn silver bangles moving softly around her wrist.

God.

His throat literally went dry.

Khushi noticed him staring instantly and heartbeat lost control.

Why was he looking like THAT?

Like he wanted to kiss her immediately.

Ananya walked proudly beside Khushi whispering dramatically, “See? Told you.”

Khushi wanted ground to swallow her alive.

Meanwhile Reyansh slowly started walking toward her without breaking eye contact once.

Dangerous.

Very dangerous.

The moment he stopped in front of her, silence settled strangely between them despite loud music around.

Then softly—

“Hi.”

That’s it.

One word.

But his voice had changed.

Lower.

Rougher.

Khushi’s cheeks instantly warmed. “Hi.”

Reyansh’s eyes slowly moved over her again before he muttered almost under breath,

“You wore this intentionally?”

“What?”

“To kill me.”

God.

Khushi instantly looked away shyly while Ananya behind them fake gagged dramatically.

“I regret inviting both of you.”

Party started properly after that.

Music became louder, cousins danced everywhere, mocktails circulated, people laughed nonstop.

But honestly?

Khushi remained hyper aware of one thing the entire time.

Reyansh’s eyes.

Because no matter where she stood—

he kept looking.

Sometimes from distance while talking with guests.

Sometimes while pretending listen to cousins.

Sometimes openly.

And every single time it ruined her heartbeat.

At one point Khushi stood near drinks counter trying calm herself when suddenly someone grabbed her wrist gently from behind.

Before she could react—

she got pulled into quieter corridor beside rooftop garden area.

Khushi gasped softly. “Reyansh!”

He closed door behind them slightly before turning toward her fully.

And God.

Up close he looked even worse.

Black suit.

Intense eyes.

Slight perfume smell.

She was finished.

“What are you doing?” she whispered nervously. “Everyone is outside.”

“Hm.”

“Then?”

“You’re distracting me.”

Khushi blinked innocently. “Maine kya kiya?”

He stepped closer slowly. “Existing.”

Her heartbeat instantly accelerated.

“Reyansh…”

“I’ve been trying behave normally for one hour.”

His gaze moved across her face again. “Impossible.”

Khushi looked down shyly but he gently caught her chin making her look up again.

“You know what problem is?”

“What?”

“You have no idea how beautiful you look.”

The way he said beautiful—

quietly.

Honestly.

Like it genuinely affected him—

made her breath catch.

Before she could answer, Reyansh suddenly leaned closer near her ear.

“And this saree is testing my patience.”

Khushi literally stopped breathing.

God.

“Someone will come,” she whispered weakly.

“Let them.”

“REYANSH.”

He laughed softly seeing her panic before finally resting forehead lightly against hers.

For few seconds neither spoke.

Just breathed.

Just existed.

Then softly—

“I missed you today.”

Khushi blinked surprised. “What?”

“You were busy with Ananya whole day.”

That unexpected possessiveness melted her instantly.

“Aap bhi toh busy the.”

“Hm.” His thumb brushed softly against her wrist. “Still missed you.”

Silence.

Dangerously soft silence.

Khushi finally whispered shyly, “Aap black mein bohot ache lag rahe ho.”

Reyansh smirked slightly. “Bas ache?”

She immediately realized mistake.

His eyes darkened little.

“Khushi.”

“Hm?”

“Say properly.”

“No.”

“Say it.”

She looked away embarrassed. “Handsome.”

“Better.”

Before she could recover from embarrassment—

he kissed her.

Slowly.

Warmly.

Like he had wanted to since moment she walked downstairs.

Khushi instantly clutched front of his coat lightly while heart completely lost control again.

The kiss deepened little when suddenly—

“REYANSH?”

Both jumped apart immediately.

Khushi’s soul almost left body.

Bua’s voice.

Outside corridor.

Khushi panicked instantly and moved away fast fixing saree nervously while Reyansh tried not laugh seeing her terror.

“Stop smiling!” she whisper yelled.

Door opened slightly.

Bua looked inside suspiciously.

“Oh. Tum dono yahan?”

Khushi instantly stepped back awkwardly. “Woh… fresh air…”

Bua narrowed eyes slightly between them.

For one horrible second Khushi genuinely thought she knew.

Then thankfully someone called Bua outside and she left again.

The moment door closed—

Khushi smacked Reyansh’s arm immediately. “Dekha?!”

He burst out laughing.

“This is not funny!”

“You should see your face right now.”

“Aapko sab joke lagta hai.”

He pulled her close again before she could escape. “Relax.” Then softly near her ear, “Waise panic mein bhi cute lagti ho.”

Khushi hid face against his chest dramatically.

Next morning entire house woke up at ridiculous hour because Haldi preparations officially started.

Yellow flowers decorated everywhere, dhol music echoed downstairs, kitchen smelled amazing and relatives already shouted instructions nonstop.

Khushi stood inside guest room mirror area while getting ready carefully.

Pinkish indo-western outfit.

Soft makeup.

Jhumkas.

Hair half tied loosely.

And honestly?

She looked gorgeous.

Even she knew that today.

The moment she stepped downstairs, multiple aunties complimented her immediately.

“Kitni pyari lag rahi ho.”

“Bilkul doll.”

“Modern dresses mein bhi decent lagti hai.”

Khushi smiled politely but instinctively searched only one face.

And found him instantly.

Reyansh stood near hall entrance wearing white kurta pajama, sleeves folded slightly, talking to decorator.

Then he looked up.

And stopped mid sentence.

His eyes slowly moved across her completely.

Khushi’s heartbeat skipped.

Again.

Every single time.

She smiled unconsciously little seeing his expression.

But then—

she noticed Bua nearby watching both.

Instantly Khushi’s smile disappeared.

She looked away immediately and moved toward Ananya instead.

Reyansh noticed whole thing.

The way she suddenly stepped away.

The way nervousness entered her expression.

His jaw tightened slightly.

Throughout haldi function same thing kept happening.

Whenever their eyes met—

something soft happened between them naturally.

Small smiles.

Hidden glances.

Secret touches while passing plates or flowers.

But every time Khushi noticed Bua observing—

she immediately created distance again.

And honestly?

It started irritating Reyansh.

At one point Khushi stood near kitchen area arranging sweets when suddenly someone pulled her behind side corridor quietly.

She gasped softly already knowing who it was.

“Reyansh!”

He looked annoyed now.

“What?”

“You keep running away.”

Khushi blinked nervously. “Nahi toh.”

“Khushi.”

His voice lowered.

Serious now.

“You literally smiled at me and vanished.”

She sighed softly frustrated. “Bua keeps staring.”

“So?”

“So what if she doubts something?”

Reyansh stepped closer. “Then let her.”

Her eyes widened immediately. “Aap pagal ho?”

“Haan.”

“Shaadi house hai!”

“And?”

“Aapko tension kyun nahi hoti?”

“Because eventually everyone will know anyway.”

That sentence made her heartbeat stop little.

Eventually everyone will know.

Future.

Marriage.

Family.

God.

Reyansh noticed panic and softened instantly.

He sighed before gently fixing loose strand behind her ear.

“I’m not saying abhi bata dete hai.”

Khushi relaxed little.

“But stop behaving like we’re doing something wrong.”

Silence.

Because that hit directly.

Khushi looked down quietly.

He was right.

They weren’t wrong.

Still…

fear stayed.

Reyansh’s expression softened seeing conflict on her face. Then quietly he held her hand.

“Hey.”

She looked up slowly.

“You don’t have to hide from me.”

God.

That one line almost made her emotional.

Before she could answer, loud dhol sound echoed again from outside and cousins shouted for them.

Reyansh smirked little. “Chalo warna Ananya khud yahan aa jayegi.”

Khushi laughed softly finally.

But before leaving—

he suddenly pulled her back once more.

Quickly.

Unexpectedly.

And kissed her cheek.

Khushi froze completely.

“REYANSH!”

He looked way too pleased with himself. “Haldi gift.”

Then casually walked away toward celebration leaving Khushi standing there red faced, breathless and completely ruined again. 🖤

Everyone is applying haldi to Ananya, photographers clicking photes of everyone, dhol also started and everyone is dancing parents , cousins, ananya in center for hall and enjoying her moments.

Suddenly Reyansh grab khushi again ,take her to corridor complaint her that she did applied haldi to him

" tumne mujhe jaldi nh lagai" she smiled said "Acha apki haldi nh hai apki behen ki hai "

. He said " haan toh haldi ke liye dulha dulhan hone chahiye ,hum toh hai yaha "

She chuckled and applied haldi from the bowl he take with him , slowly applied haldi and now it's time of him applying her haldi but he is reyansh 😝 he can't do things simply with her , he pin her in wall hands gripping her waist making her breath hitch and saying " jaan now it's my turn " he simple rubbed his cheeks to her to transfer haldi and somehow this gesture make khushi nervous and shy ,she stoped breathing, and he peck her lips one time said " come back wifey what happened" she laughed nervously said " nothing"

Again hitler of the house BUA ,her eyes finding them and when she saw khushi and reyansh coming from corridor smiling and faces coverd with haldi ,as per her memory no one has applied haldi except ananya so she get a doubt and start inspecting khushi .

Calling khushi asked "ye haldi kab lagi tumhe" in a ride inspecting voice ,she nervously said " woh bua ananya ne lagayi thi " bua said "maine toh nh dekha "

Khushi said bua "apka dhyan nh hoga woh ananya ne lagayi thi photo click krte waqt "

Somehow she makes excuses and get out of bua inspection, bua is not a simple woman she has eyes on them and khushi knows one thing

( Bua didn't like her from the Starting, and realise maybe in future relationship or Reyansh and khushi she will become an obstacle herself maybe )
